Body armor with positive buoyancy “Granat-P”

Modular body armor protects a person according to S, S2, Br1 and Br4  protective structure levels (GOST R 34286-2017).

The body armor consists of front and back protectors, interconnected on the shoulders and sides with the fastening and adjusting system. There are pockets for additional armor elements on the front and back sections. A detachable collar with the elements of rigid fixation to the front section and neck support ensures the safe position of a person in the water.

Body armor is equipped with a quick release system.

The covers of the front and back sections contain protective screens combined with polyethylene foam blocks to ensure the body armor’s positive buoyancy.

In the projection of the protective screens of the front and back sections, the body armor provides a circular protection of the human torso according to C, Br1,  level, as well as shrapnel protection according to C2 level (V50% - 550 m/s).

In the projection of additional protective armor elements of front and back protectors, made of ceramic composite armor elements, the body armor provides protection by Br4 protective structure level.

The design of the cover provides for quick removal of water from the inner pockets of the body armor.

S protection level - knife-bayonet,  6х5 with industrial grinding (impact energy - (49 ± 1) J.

S2 protection level - fragment imitator at the speed of V50% (steel ball with a weight of 1.05 g.)

Br1 protection level - Stechkin automatic pistol, 57-Н-181С 9 mm pistol cartridge, steel core bullet

Br4 protection level -  AK-74 assault rifle, 5.45 x 39 mm cartridge with enhanced penetration bullet (heat-strengthened  steel), index  7Н10
